Dr. Jean M. Henscheid is clinical assistant professor and program co-coordinator in Adult, Organizational Learning and Leadership at the University of Idaho. She has authored and edited books, monographs, and scholarly articles and consulted with campuses throughout the United States and abroad on issues related to the undergraduate experience. For several years she served as executive editor of About Campus magazine and editor of the Journal of The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. From 2011 to 2013 she held a visiting appointment as an associate professor of Educational Leadership and Policy at Portland State University and senior scholar with the PSU Division of Student Affairs. Prior to that appointment, Dr. Henscheid was a faculty member and director of general education at the University of Idaho. She had previously led learning community programs and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership and research methods at Washington State University. From 1999 through 2001 she served as associate director for research and publications for the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina and has remained a fellow with the Center since 2001.
