Meet the members of the Institute
Ethan joined Gardner Institute in March 2016. In this role he co-operates several internal processes including web-based platform support, webinars and database administration. He also assists with event planning, and IT support.
Drew has substantive experience with undergraduate education administration, redesign of unjust education systems, strategic planning, fund raising, reaffirmation of accreditation, postsecondary access and success, and enrollment management efforts.
Sara's current work with the Institute involves advising institutions on the Foundations of Excellence First-Year, Transfer, and Implement, Gateways to Completion, and Retention Performance Management processes.

Jill Robinson Kramer, PhD, is principal consultant at JRK Consulting in Indianapolis. In her consulting work, she focuses on strategic planning, network and meeting facilitation, grant facilitation and development, and metrics and outcome reporting. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Marian University in the master’s of education program.

Advisor and Gardner Institute Board Member
Lou Albert is a Professor of Practice in the Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College and has served on the Gardner Institute Board since its inception in 2007.
Dr. Cathy Buyarski is the Executive Associate Dean of University College at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis overseeing programs and services that promote student success by helping students develop meaningful pathways to graduation.
Dr. Klumpp has held a variety of positions at Alma College, including College Registrar, Associate Provost, Vice President for Enrollment, Director of the Center for Student Opportunity, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and now Assistant Professor of Business Administration.
Nancy Quam-Wickham is Professor of History (and Chair Emerita, 2005-2015) at California State University-Long Beach, and has worked as a Senior Assessment Specialist at Washington State University and is a Gardner Institute Discipline Advisor.
Matthew Redinger’s areas of academic specialization are Modern Latin American History and US-Latin American Relations. He served as a full Professor of History from 1993-2012, when he assumed responsibilities as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at Montana State University Billings. He is a Gardner Institute Discipline Advisor
Charles Schroeder has served as the Chief Student Affairs Officer at Mercer University, Saint Louis University, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) for over three decades. He currently serves as a part-time Senior Associate Consultant for Ruffalo-Noellevitz specializing in retention and student success strategies and interventions. Read Full Bio
